Holding on can feel like strength, but sometimes it’s the very thing keeping us stuck. We cling to old stories, relationships, or identities because they feel safe — even when they no longer serve us.

I learned the cost of holding on during the ending of my marriage. I kept trying to fix what had already dissolved, believing love meant never letting go. In truth, real love evolves. It becomes acceptance and peace.

Letting go is one of the hardest parts of the healing journey because it requires trust. You have to trust that what’s meant for you will never require you to shrink to fit. The moment I released what was no longer aligned, started to feel peace.  

Holding on to what hurts costs you clarity. It drains your energy, delays your growth, and distracts you from your purpose. When I finally let go, I didn’t lose love, I rediscovered it within myself. That is the power of surrender. It can turn endings into sacred beginnings.
